Each year in January/February, Island Montessori Academy organizes an unforgettable fundraising evening event. The proceeds from this event go directly to the IMA Development Fund which has helped increase the number of books for the library, make renovations on existing classrooms, and assist in paying for fieldtrips and special school events. As a non-profit, without assistance from our annual fundraising event, some of these things would not be possible.
For our 2014 event, Year of the Horse, we will be celebrating with an assortment of asian tastes, a silent auction, live entertainment and a live auction. If you'd like to join the committee, please call our front office and ask for the date of the first fall meeting - volunteers are always needed,
If you don't feel that you have time to volunteer as a committee member, you can support the event by gathering auction items and advertisements from local businesses. Area restaurants, salons/spas, specialty stores, theatres, art galleries, and even babysitters can be asked to donate. If you don't feel comfortable asking a business to donate a gift certificate or an item, remember - you can donate your time. In the past, parents have donated gift certificates for services such as babysitting, hosting/planning a birthday party, baking holiday cookies...the possibilities are endless. Once you have the donation and completed donor form in hand, just return everything to the front office and the committee will take over from there. All of the necessary forms are available at either IMA office or on this website.
